That's right just to make life a bit more complicated there is more than one wedding anniversary material for every year, now this can be useful in the years where the normal list throw's a wobbly such as Wood for the 5th Anniversary, you can select something appropriate from one of the other lists

So how many lists are there?

Well during our development of this and our other web sites we've come across numerous lists. Typically it seems that if you're a company that has a product not on the existing list you publish an alternative list! Maybe we're just jaded however that's what it looks like. If you cut out all these type of lists then you effectively have 4 main lists of which the Traditional list is the most often followed and used.

To follow or not to follow

Why should I select a gift based on the Anniversary Material.

There is absolutley no reason why you should celebrate your anniversary with a theme as suggested within these lists, many marriages have lasted a couple of years without following the lists! no, I jest, How you choose to celebrate you union with what should be your life partner, soul mate or whatever you call them over the years (I've had a few choice ones!!) then it is yours and your partners choice. One word of advice however is always make an effort to celebrate your anniversary its a chance to rediscover why you chose to marry your partner in the first place.
